About this course

 This course is for educators with Gemini Advanced for Google Workspace for Education. If your school doesn’t have the paid Gemini plan, the tools and features shown here won’t be available to you. Please check with your IT team or administrator before enrolling.
If you do have Gemini Advanced for Workspace—great! You’re in the right place.

This course is designed to help you explore how Gemini’s Advanced AI features can support your everyday work as a teacher. You’ll learn how Gemini works inside tools you already use, like Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Gmail to help with lesson planning, writing, data organization, and more. You will also explore Gemini's Advanced chatbot and how to leverage Gems, Deep Research, and Canvas mode to streamline your work and create original content your students can interact with.

Instead of overwhelming you with every feature, we’ll focus on what’s actually useful for educators. Each section includes hands-on “challenges” so you can try things out as you go—whether you’re writing smarter emails or organizing student information with just a few prompts.

By the end, you’ll walk away with a solid understanding of how Gemini Advanced can save you time and help you work more efficiently in the classroom and beyond.

Ben Sondgeroth

Ben Sondgeroth serves as the LTC’s Lead Regional Educational Technology Coordinator. Ben began his career as a history teacher in Morrison, IL where he initiated and coordinated the district’s iPad pilot program, redesigning the curriculum to effectively integrate the new technology. During this time, he developed a passion for sharing with other teachers exciting new ways to use technology in education.

Linda DeYounge

Linda DeYounge (she/her) serves as the Learning Technology Center’s Program Manager of Online Learning. She develops engaging synchronous and asynchronous online training opportunities for educators and administrators. She also provides coaching, consulting, and training services for schools developing online and blended learning activities for students and staff, including on a variety of Learning Management Systems.
